This bin is constructed from high quality recycled plastic. It comes in red or terra cotta. It is very easy to assemble and can be stored outside or inside. A complete 16 page instructional booklet is included with each bin. You must purchase your Red Wiggler Worms separately. We recommend you wait until you have your bin to purchase these. Limited 5 year warranty on materials and workmanship. To get started you simply fill the bottom tray with worms, bedding and food scraps. The worms will digest the food and move upward into the tray above. The bottom tray will be left with rich castings. The liquid created from the worm castings can be effortlessly drained as liquid fertilizer, also known as worm tea, from the easy-to-use spigot. The system has no unpleasant odors because of the proper ventilation allowed by the lid. This system automatically separates the food scraps from finished compost. At full operation you can house 10,000 to 12,000 worms. They will consume 5 to 8 pounds of food a week. This will leave you with one full tray of castings per month. The system measures 16" x 16" x 21" for a 3 tray system. Each tray you add will add 3.5" to the height. The 3 tray system weight 15 pounds. It is operational in temperatures between 45 and 85.
